然而，长期的半退休生活让Chanel觉得枯燥乏味，1954年2月，她举办了复出后的第一次新装发布会。面对新起之秀Dior，圣罗兰等优秀设计师的崛起，Chanel依然故我，她曾说：圣罗兰的品位果然不凡，他越是模仿我，表现出来的品位越是卓越。这次的复出不仅是场潮流，也是场革命。71岁，真正改变史上潮流的人，依然是Coco Chanel.

她还说过：一个女人若想要快乐，最好是遵循传统的道德，否则就要有英雄般的勇气，而最后还要负上孤独的代价。她没接过婚，但直到死去，他一就按照自己的方式生活。优雅而惊艳——这是他认为一个女人的该有的特质，他的机智和妩媚能让天下最沉闷的男人绽放笑容，他的勇气和傲骨可以战胜宿敌甚至时间。传奇也许不完美，但是精彩。她创造了一个时代，也让我们深深的记住了这个叫Coco的女人。

今天的CHANEL代表着华丽、现代与摩登，“COCO”已是人们提起来朗朗上口的少数名师的名字之一。法国前文化部长曾有如下一段评价：“这个世纪法国将有三个名字永存，戴高乐、毕加索和香奈尔。”
